At the Centre we offer Vinyasa Yoga & Gita Hatha Yoga classes. All our Yoga classes are suitable for all levels, including beginners. It combines various breathing exercises, poses/stretches as well as a deep relaxation and meditative element.

 

Vinyasa Yoga

 

A midly vigorous class of a sequence of poses based on the Ashtanga Vinyasa System, synchronising breath & movement, working towards a balance of strength & flexibility within the body.  

 

 Flowing, invigorating, calming.

Gita Hatha Yoga

 

A gentle

 

 A gentle Hatha style yoga consisting of meditation, relaxation, stretching, concentration.

STILLNESS MEDITATION THERAPY

Stillness meditation developed by psychiatrist Dr Ainslie Meares, is a simple practise that relieves anxiety and achieves relaxation, serenity, resilience and better health through the natural experience of profound physical and mental relaxation, free of dogma, focus or effort of any kind.

 

  • This type of meditation is completely different from classical meditation. Stillness meditation makes use of the body’s way of coping with distress. It is not related to culture or religion and does not involve any mantra, ritual or actual technique.
  • Stillness meditation was originated by the renowned Dr Ainslie Meares for the major purpose of relaxation, stress management and healing.
  • With an experience of simplicity we learn to let go in body and mind beyond discomfort or disturbance into deep physical and mental relaxation.
  • Because in Stillness Meditation we actually rest our mind; fear, worry, depression and stress will be relieved as anxiety and tension reduces.
  • When Stillness Meditation is practised regularly energy increases, resilience is gained and coping ability improves. These improvements can assist with better performance, productivity, creativity and expanded consciousness.
  • Stillness Meditation is suitable for people in all age groups for both healing and preventative health care.
  • Correct posture, regular practise and a commitment to perseverance with this practise are necessary to bring results.
  • Newcomers to the practise of Stillness Meditation may experience some temporary uneasiness which, as with any new skill, will pass with practise.
  • Stillness Meditation can be successfully practised alone but assisted sessions with a trained therapist who is fully involved in the process can bring exceptional results.

Experience/Special Interests:

–    Carolyn has over 20 years of experience in yoga and meditation practice.

–    She has a special interest in alternative therapies, aiming to provide her client with a natural and tailored approach to removing the stresses of everyday life.

–    She teaches stress relief techniques with the ultimate goal of clients adopting these practices guidance free.
